Our Beliefs Encapsulated

We believe that there is one God, who has revealed Himself as Father; through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by emanation. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man. (See Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16.)

We believe that the saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (II Thessalonians 1:8; I Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (resurrection). (I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4.)

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is inspired of God and is the infallible Word of God.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (II Timothy 3:16).

"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (II Peter 1:20-21).

"For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."  (Romans 15:4)

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105)

The Oneness of God

We believe in the beautiful message that our Creator became our Savior. The God of the Old Testament whom we sinned against (Genesis 3) manifested himself in flesh (John 1:14, 1 Timothy 3:16) and became the perfect sacrifice to atone for our sins (2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24)

We strongly adhere to the biblical teachings that God is one according to Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.”  Jesus himself said this was the most important commandment. (Mark 12:29-31)

Repentance

We believe that repentance is the very first step to salvation. In the Old Testament it was prophesied that a voice would be in the wilderness preparing the way for the Lord (Isaiah 40:3). This voice was John the Baptist who was calling the people to repent of their sins (Matthew 3:3). John was preparing the hearts of people for the coming messiah by calling them to repent from their wicked ways. Peter later emphasized that this is the first step in order to receive the promises of God (Acts 2:38)

Without repentance we are doomed to our sinful ways.

"I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3)

"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent" (Acts 17:30)

Baptism in the Name of Jesus

We believe in following the keys to the kingdom of Heaven that Jesus gave Peter (Matthew 16:18-19) and later Peter declared what those keys were!

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:38)

We believe that water baptism is necessary (Mark 16:16, Romans 6:3-4, 1 Peter 2:21) and that the name of Jesus must be invoked during baptism because "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12, 10:43; Philippians 2:9-11, Colossians 3:17)

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe that there is physical evidence that one has received the Holy Ghost and that being born of the spirit is an essential part of God's plan for Salvation. (John 3:5-6, Romans 8:9, Ezekiel 36:26-27)

"The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." - John 3:8

Jesus describes to Nicodemus that there is a "sound" to those who are born of the spirit. This sound is tongues of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:4, 2:38, 10:43-47, 19:1-7, ; Mark 16:16-19, Isaiah 28:11)

Christian Living

As Christians, we are called to love God and others, just as God loves us. This love should be demonstrated in both our inward and outward lives, as we strive to live holy before God and others. Moreover, we are encouraged to worship God joyfully, expressing our praise and adoration with gladness in our hearts.

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." (Matthew 22:37-39)

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Romans 12:1-2)

"Rejoice in the Lord always: and again, I say, Rejoice." (Philippians 4:4)
